This series of decals were produced in 2021 for several exhibitions and culminated in a large and deconstructed site-specific installation at KMAC (Kentucky, United States). The decals, which are made of vinyl sheeting commonly used as in-store or large format seasonal window marketing for many large commercial enterprises; contain digital collages of Bickel’s painted marks and other ephemera from her studio, along with images from other infamous works from art history. The decals are commercially printed, and before their installation, an empty wood frame is suspended where the decal is to be installed, and the realized shadows are sketched (documented) onto the wall. Then, a trompe-l'œil drop shadow is painted on the wall. This provides the illusion of a painting that is stretched over a frame or traditional stretcher. However, it is not.
